CLASS REQUIREMENTS

Cameras used in this class must be 35mm SLR cameras with a built-in light meter and manual exposure capability.

Before the workshop, please be sure you have a camera that meets these requirements, so you can follow along with in-class exercises and demos.

APPROVED CAMERAS

The following cameras are approved and highly recommended for this class:

If your 35mm SLR camera meets the requirements but is not on this list, email workshops@ebpco.org prior to registration for approval. Let us know the make and model of your camera (EX: Olympus OM-2, Canon A-1, etc) and, if possible, attach a picture of your camera!

NOT RECOMMENDED

The following camera types are NOT recommended for use in this class:

Point-and-shoot cameras

✘ Electronic, Fixed Lens, and/or Fully Automatic SLR cameras

HELPFUL CAMERA RESOURCES

If you need to purchase a camera before the workshop, we recommend visiting Glass Key Photo, Mikes Camera, Looking Glass Photo, or Seawood Photo. Share this page with them to make finding an appropriate camera easy!

If you’re unsure if your camera is working, sign up for our FREE Dr. Philm Camera Repair workshop to have it checked out before signing up for this class.

IF YOUR CAMERA DOESN’T MEET REQUIREMENTS

If your camera doesn’t meet the class requirements and you’re unable to acquire one that does, you can use a camera provided by EBPCO during class. We have a very limited number of these cameras available, so please note this during registration to have one set aside for you!
