EBPCO Presents: The Judy Dater Darkroom!

DSC_6135.jpg

Judy Dater is one of the Bay Area’s landmark photographers and feminists. You can learn more about her work and her amazing career here, here and here. Not only is Judy a badass, she’s on our Advisory Board! When Judy offered to donate her classic silver gelatin darkroom, complete with the posters, artwork (and vintage CD collection) that her creative space has accumulated over time, we jumped at the opportunity.

Judy’s 100 square foot B&W darkroom will be the centerpiece of the new East Bay Photo Center. Students as well as experienced photographers will have the chance to work with the same equipment and the same methods as one of photography’s legends.

We are seeking donors to cover the $50,000 cost of cataloging and relocating this historic creative space. If preserving and celebrating Bay Area photo history is important to you, contact EPCO about making a contribution.

Sorry, Judy’s dog is not included!
